If I could be anywhere in the world … Katahdin

My version of winter blues is sifting through photos of summer hikes – trails that I usually only venture up in the summer. Mount Katahdin is one place I go every summer, and regardless of the trails I take up and down the mountain, it is always a sight to behold and and experience to cherish.

Here’s a sampling of photos taken on my Aug. 14, 2011 trip up Mount Katahdin via my favorite trail, the Cathedral Trail. The sunny day offered a perfect opportunity for half of our large group to brave Knife Edge, the 1.1-mile narrow ridge between the mountain’s Baxter Peak and Pamola Peak.
