Ski free at Sunday River, nab discounted 2012-13 pass

Wax your skis one last time this weekend and say “goodbye” to winter at Sunday River Resort in Newry. “Ski Mania,” a day of free skiing and riding for all guests, will be held on Sunday, April 15, along with the resort’s annual “Passholder Appreciation BBQ,” free food and slopeside music (open to New England Passholders only).

“Our guests have come to expect a long season with great conditions,” Dana Bullen, Sunday River’s president and general manager, said in a prepared statement. “We were able to host racing teams and large groups early and late in the season because we had the snow. Now, we have a chance to show even more appreciation for our guests with our annual Ski Mania and Passholder BBQ.”

More than 30 trails will be open.

To ski and ride for free on Sunday, guests should stop by the ticket counters at South Ridge or Barker base lodges to acquire lift tickets.

And don’t miss the 2012-13 New England Pass sale. Until April 30, the 2012-13 New England Pass (valid at Sunday River, Sugarloaf and Loon Mountain) is available at the lowest prices of the year. A $50 down payment before April 30 will lock in those low rates with an easy pay plan and no interest rates. The New England Pass also offers up discounts and deals at all three resorts as well as other Boyne properties across the country.

On-mountain summer activities at Sunday River will resume on June 29 with the opening of the mountain bike park, zipline tours, geocache adventures, scenic lift rides, hiking, and summertime events.
