Where in the woods am I? Sunkhaze Meadows

Heather Omand won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Carter Meadow Road Trail in Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in November 2012 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

“Yesterday, I enjoyed a sunny, cold day on a loop trail not far from Bangor. I chose the trail because it travels through an old pine forest, which I knew would be beautiful at this time of year, when so much of the color is gone from the woodlands. I also chose this hike because it’s a good snowshoe and cross-country ski trail in the winter, and so it makes sense to start introducing readers to a few of those trails. Snow is just around the corner.

Try to guess where I hiked by viewing the photo gallery, then leave your best guesses in the comment section below. Winner gets an internet high five, as always. And stay tuned for tomorrow’s “1-minute hike” video and a write up about the trail.”
