Where in the woods am I? Indian Point Blagden Preserve

Margaret Coleman and Carolyn Newbert won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Indian Point Blagden Preserve in March 2013 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Before heading to the 75th annual Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s Show in Orono for a weekend of meeting readers and fellow outdoor enthusiasts (and homemade ice cream from Stone Fox Farm Creamery), I visited a preserve that I’d never been to, though I’ve driven by it plenty of times while on my way to other hiking trails. This preserve, perhaps overshadowed by a large nearby park, offers a beautiful walk through an old forest to the ocean. The three trails of the preserve are marked by different color paint – yellow, blue and red. The hike through the woods, along the shore and back was about 3 miles. Try to guess what preserve I visited by viewing the photo gallery below. Winner gets an internet high five. And stay tuned for tomorrow’s “1-minute hike” video and writeup about the hike, which I’ll post tomorrow.

P.S. Thanks to all the people who stopped by the BDN booth at the show! I had some great talks with fellow hikers. Thanks for all the suggestions and support.
