Where in the woods am I? Gorham Mountain

Christene Berg, Skip Mildrum, Carolyn Newbert, Benjamin Smith and Lory Martin won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Gorham Mountain on MDI in May 2013 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Derek and I visited the Bangor Humane Society about 10 days ago in search for a young dog to join our home and become “hiking buddy 0.5,” as Derek put it. I don’t think we expected to find what we were looking for that day, but we did. We left the building with a 7-month old pit mix named Oreo — a name that fits his black and white markings. I’ll write more about my new hiking buddy later, but in the week or so he has been a part of our home, we have been surprised at how quickly he learns. He went on his first hike with us this past weekend, and he had a blast navigating around rocks, jumping up steps and splashing through puddles. By viewing the photo gallery below, try to guess where Oreo went on his first hike (with us, anyway – we don’t know much about his past). Winner gets an internet high five and a mention in the updated blog post. And stay tuned for tomorrow’s “1-minute hike” video of the adventure!
