Where in the woods am I? Little River Community Trail

No one won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Little River Community Trail in May 2013 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Typically, I go on my weekly hike on the day with the best weather between Thursday and Sunday, when my work schedule gives me the flexibility. Last week, there really was no “best weather” day. All I had to work with was rain, rain and more rain. So I put off the hike until Sunday, hoping that Monday’s predicted sun might make an early appearance. It didn’t.

While I prefer to hike in the sun, I’ve hiked plenty of times in the rain and muck. And Sunday was one of those times. This week’s “1-minute hike” might be more of a “1-minute swim,” but it did result in some beautiful spring photos of rushing water and bright green foliage. By the end of the hike yesterday, Oreo (my dog) and I were covered in mud and soaked to the bone, but we didn’t melt. In fact, we made it safely back home to jump in a nice hot shower. And as I write this, we’re enjoying the long-awaited sun in the back yard.

View the photo gallery below and see if you recognize where Oreo and I went on a hike yesterday. Leave your best guesses in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Winner gets an internet high five, as always, and a mention in the updated post.
