Where in the woods am I? Indian Trail

Carolyn Newbert and Jody Walker won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Indian Trail in Brewer in December 2013 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

I decided to go hiking on the warmest day last week, as well as what is typically the warmest time of the day — afternoon, after the sun has warmed things up a bit. So it was a toasty 20 degrees Fahrenheit when Oreo and I hit the trails on Friday afternoon. The resulting video (which I’ll post tomorrow) probably isn’t my best work. We had to keep moving, keep our blood pumping, which left little time to set up camera angles. Mostly, I filmed while we walked. Every time I paused to take a few photos or pan our surroundings, Oreo started to shiver or whine. We ended up jogging for a bit to warm up. The wind picked up and my ears started to burn, though they were covered with a winter hat. Anyway — it was good to get outside and get some exercise, but we were certainly relieved to hop back in the car at the end of the hike and return home to a warm living room.

See if you recognize the frozen trails by viewing the photo gallery below. Leave your best guesses in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Winner gets a high five and a mention in the updated post. And as always, stay tuned for tomorrow’s
“1-minute hike” video and writeup of the hike. You can try it on a warmer day, perhaps.
