Where in the woods am I? Woodlawn

No one won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Woodlawn in Bangor in January 2014 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Oreo (my dog) and I went for a pleasant woods walk Friday on a trail network not far from our home in Brewer. The day was overcast and a bit rainy, so I was surprised to see four vehicles parked at the trailhead upon our arrival.

Oreo walked by two fellow dogs (also on leash), but he seemed more interested in the gang of noisy squirrels climbing through the evergreen canopy overhead. The trails traveled through beautiful stands of tall evergreens. Old mossy stumps and nurse logs hinted at the age of the forest and the trails, which have an interesting history (one I’ll write about in tomorrow’s “1-minite hike” post about the hike).

See if you recognize the trails by viewing the photo gallery below, and leave your best guesses in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Winner gets a high five and a mention in the updated post. Also, stay tuned for tomorrow’s “1-minute hike” video and summary of the trails, which are great for snowshoeing, skiing, trail running and walking.
