Bangor Y CEO Diane Dickerson has chosen Jodie Burckhard as the director of the Bangor YMCA Wilderness Center of Camp Jordan, and Suzanne Brunner as the Bangor Y’s grant development manager.

Burckhard has been with the Bangor Y since 2010, serving as the director of childcare, and was promoted to director of youth development in 2013.

“Jodie has the experience, skills, and positive attitude necessary for this very demanding position,” Dickerson stated in the press release. “Her support and inspirational management style is so well-suited for this position. I am confident she will carry on the wonderful traditions of Camp Jordan, as well as be able to grow and expand this very treasured aspect of our Y. I am thrilled to have Jodie leading the way for The Bangor YMCA Wilderness Center at Camp Jordan.”

Brunner has also been with the Bangor Y since 2010, serving as the director of caring connections, a nonprofit cooperative program of the Bangor Y and Eastern Maine Medical Center, providing outreach, education, advocacy and support, as well as access to quality breast and cervical health services.

Brunner’s role will be expanding to become the grant development manager for the Bangor Y.

“Suzanne is so skilled and talented in the area of researching, obtaining and managing grants that this was a natural selection for me,” stated Dickerson. “She has the patience and persistence to work closely with every department of our organization, and to seek the funding necessary to support our worthwhile programs and services to the community. We are so fortunate to have her leading this very critical area of our Y.”

Burckhard and Brunner will assume their new roles at the Bangor Y starting March 1.
