I’ll present ‘100 Maine hikes’ at Brewer Cabin Fever Reliever, March 1-2

It’s just about time to make plans for the weekend (if you haven’t already). I suggest stopping by the Cabin Fever Reliever, an outdoorsy show that will help you kick the winter blues, March 1-2, at the “World Famous Brewer Auditorium.” It’s free and family-friendly. Plus …

cfr-logoI’ll be there, along with BDN Outdoor Editor John Holyoke. In fact, I’m scheduled to give a short talk, “100 Maine Hikes,” at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. So come fill up a chair. Make me nervous. Ask difficult questions. I’d love your support. And I think you’ll walk away with some hiking ideas for this spring.

During the presentation, I’ll focus on some of my absolute favorite hiking locations I’ve found in Maine thus far, and they’ll vary drastically in difficulty — from a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk to my favorite route up Katahdin. I’ll show a a few videos, photos and maps, but what I’m really looking forward to is questions from the audience.

As for the rest of the show — it’s always great. I’ve manning the BDN Outdoors booth for a number of years, and I always have a fun time visiting the other displays. This year, I plan on attending the talk “Becoming a Maine Guide” by John Rogers, which is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the ninth Cabin Fever Reliever, organized by the Penobscot Fly Fishers. Come and wander around, enter for door prizes and learn about all sorts of outdoorsy things happening in this wonderful state.
