Where in the woods am I? Schoodic Point

Skip Mildrum, Carolyn Newbert and Nancy Graves McKay won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor in March 2014 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Spring is around the corner, but it doesn’t seem to be warming up just yet. In fact, the cold was a bit of a problem on Sunday, when Derek and I planned to go hiking. We originally planned to hike a mountain near Greenville, but the predicted high temperature for the day was 17 degrees Fahrenheit, and high winds were expected statewide. We knew our dog Oreo wouldn’t be able to tolerate that type of weather, and he really needed to get outside; he’s currently the definition of cabin fever. So, to escape cold pockets (is that a weather term?) in central Maine, we headed toward the coast, and my friend Kim joined us. See if you recognize where the four of us (including Oreo) hiked by viewing the photos below. Leave your best guesses in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Winner gets a high five and a mention in the updated post. And as always, stay tuned for tomorrow’s “1-minute hike” video and summary of the hike.
